Summary:
We’ve been retained by US Oral Surgery Management to find a Corporate Director of Procurement. This is a newly created position, based on growth, and is a tremendous opportunity for someone to create/develop a top performing procurement function for this dynamic, quickly growing, industry leading company. Organization:
US Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) was the first shared services platform for oral surgeons.

The initial USOSM platform was formed in November 2017 by RiverGlade Capital and the
Thurston Group through the combination of two oral surgery groups in Austin and Dallas.
The Thurston Group (www.thurstongroup.com) and RiverGlade Capital
(www.rivergladecapital.com) both have successful experience working in the practice
management sector across different specialties.
The initial two anchor practices consisted of 18 physicians in 17 locations. The response has
been very positive and USOSM have now grown to 30 groups consisting of 102 physicians,
operating in 104 locations in 11 states. There are multiple other groups in the development pipeline in a multi-state area. They anticipate continuing this pace of growth.
USOSM has an outstanding leadership team with a very positive culture. Beyond a winning platform and model, they have a well accomplished leadership team spearheaded by Rick Hall, CEO, and Courtney Harman, COO. Both have a great history of success in multiple facets of healthcare services.
Role:
Reporting to the COO, Cortney Harman, the Director of Procurement will be responsible for developing a
strategic approach to and lead the execution of the corporate procurement and materials management
process, centered around adding value and efficiency to the organization. Courtney has been with USOSM
since its beginning, is a well accomplished, supportive leader, and has had no voluntary turnover on her
team.
There is currently no formal “system” in place within the organization. This gives this person a great deal
of blank canvass to create and develop something excellent they can be proud of.
USOSM is part of a GPO for some things and have recently started to pilot a procurement system.
This person will:

Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the role to promote effectiveness and efficiency.

Oversee contract development and administration.

Create and communicate performance metrics to manage the acquisition and reporting of spend effectively and efficiently across the company.

Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate, and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.

Lead the procurement system implementation.
Ideal Background:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and/or equivalent experience

7 – 10 years of related experience

Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance.

Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program.

Strong communication/negotiation abilities

Solid analytical and computer skills

Outstanding team builder and leadership skills
Compensation:
​
This person will have a very competitive base salary, a 20% bonus opportunity, along with the Director level equity participation. The anticipate the next equity event inside of the next two years. There is also a full benefit program.
