Vice President of Accounting Services

Seattle, Washington

Summary:

The Rottman Group has been retained by Coronis Health to find a Vice President of Accounting Services for their SupportMed, anesthesia division.  This is a bit of a unique role. This person will lead the accounting and reporting service for the SupportMed clients for whom they provide more than just revenue cycle management. This person will be replacing one of the founders who will be retiring from his full-time role in 2021.  This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic growing organization.

Company History:

Coronis Health: (www.coronishealth.com)

Based in Baltimore, MD, Coronis Health is a strategic amalgamation of revenue cycle companies

brought together each with their own unique specialty expertise and experience. They started

with the idea that no multi-specialty RCM company is an expert in every specialty. It became

Coronis Health’s mission to seek out companies with deep experience and success in a specific

specialty area to join the Coronis family. The result – a new kind of RCM company with teams of

experts in over 16 specialties. Coronis Health is built on the foundation of pure performance,

transparency and specialization. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare RCM, they’ve

seen it all. They understand the stress and challenges that come with managing the billing and

collections process.

Their current different operating divisions:

·    Anesthesia (SupportMed)

·    Pathology

·    Hospital

·    Multi-specialty physicians

·    Behavioral Health

SupportMed: (www.supportmed.com)

On the surface, SupportMed is an outsourced revenue cycle management service provider for anesthesiologists. When you look below that surface, you’ll find more depth in both quality and scope of service they offer and provide to their clients. Headquartered in Everett, Washington, SupportMed was founded in 2000 by Jeff Cysewski in response to large, national billing companies that became very transactional and lost touch with their clients. Jeff recognized an opportunity to provide anesthesia practices with more professional, higher touch, accurate, and business-savvy support services than was being provided by traditional national “volume” vendors. Kerry Lowery, President, joined as Jeff’s partner in 2014. Together, they’ve added deeper service offerings /capabilities and have more than doubled the size of the company.

SupportMed currently provides services for 23 anesthesia groups with a total of 650 anesthesia providers. After engaging SupportMed, their average client sees a greater than 6% growth in revenue. They provide revenue cycle management services for all their clients but provide a broader set of finance and accounting services for 5 practices that comprise 230 providers. The accounting services include payroll, accounting/bookkeeping, A/P, and reporting. They don’t do tax work. They provide other analytical and advisory consulting services, including significant and highly complex compensation system reporting. Perhaps the essence of their success has been providing the core RCM service, but continually seeking ways they can provide incremental value to their clients. We are seeking someone that has that same fundamental mindset.

SupportMed takes great pride in their level of service and the fact that they have never lost a client to a competitor.

In October of 2019, SupportMed was acquired by Coronis Health and operates as the anesthesia division of the company.

Role:

This person will spearhead a team of 3 other people in accounting that lead the

accounting and bookkeeping, A/P, and payroll, currently for five groups,

encompassing approximately 230 physicians. SupportMed provides monthly

financial statements not only for each of these groups, but an individualized

income statement for each physician. They are currently utilizing QuickBooks.

This is a client facing role that will build and develop relationships with current

and new clients on an ongoing basis.

This person will formally report to Jeff Cysewski and Kerry Lowery, but it is a very

team-oriented environment and culture.

Ideal Person:

·    Solid accounting and finance background

·    Able to lead in a multi-faceted environment

·    Superior client relationship skills

·    Lifelong learner mentality

·    Keenly interested in personal service and high-touch service excellence

Community:

Everett is the county seat of and the largest city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is 25 miles north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. It has a cheaper cost of living than Seattle itself, but still gives someone accessibility to everything Seattle has to over as well as ready access to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
