Regional Director of Operations
US Oral Surgery Management

Western United States

Summary:

The Rottman Group has been retained to find a Regional Director of Operations for

US Oral Surgery Management (www.usosm.com). This position is newly created

based on growth and will initially have responsibility for 7 practices in the Western

United States with the anticipate of this doubling in the next 18 months.  USOSM was

the first Shared Service Organization (SSO) in the oral surgery space.  They are a

top-notch organization with great leadership that will continue to be successful.

Organization:

There are approximately 7,500 oral surgeons in the United States. It is a very

fragmented market with 94% or all US oral surgeons operating independently.  The

oral and maxillofacial surgery market today is approximately $9 billion with an

additional $5 billion in dental implant services.

US Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) was the first shared services platform for oral surgeons.

The initial USOSM platform was formed in November 2017 by RiverGlade Capital and the Thurston Group through the combination of two oral surgery groups in Austin and Dallas.  The Thurston Group (www.thurstongroup.com) and RiverGlade Capital (www.rivergladecapital.com) both have successful experience working in the practice management sector across different specialties.

The initial two anchor practices consisted of 18 physicians in 17 locations. The response has been very positive and USOSM have now grown to 38 groups consisting of 120+ physicians, operating in 100+ locations in 16 states. There are multiple other groups in the development pipeline in a multi-state area.  They anticipate completing a recapitalization this year and continuing this pace of growth.

Beyond a winning platform and model, USOSM has an outstanding leadership team with a very positive culture, spearheaded by Rick Hall, CEO.

Another very important thing to point out about USOSM is that before the integration of practices, a full leadership team and infrastructure had been developed. They have not been in a “fake it till you make it” mode or mentality. This is a very well thought out, well put together operation you can be proud to represent with confidence of competence.

The Role:

Initially, the Regional Director of Operations will be responsible for 7 practices consisting of 21 physicians, operating in 13 locations.  Four of these practices are in the Denver market, one in Arizona, one in San Diego, and one in Oregon.  Aside from the Denver practices, the rest have been additions during the summer of 2021.  It is anticipated that the scope responsibility will

double in the next 18 months.

With the number of new practices and continued growth, this person must be a go-getter, well

organized, able to roll up their sleeves when necessary.  They need to be able to assess and develop

the site level leadership of each practice.

This person will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Cortney Harman. Courtney has been with
