Behavioral Health Group
Director of Project Manager
Summary:
The Rottman Group has been retained by Behavioral Health Group (BHG) to find a Director of Project Management. This person will be responsible for the oversight of de novo development, relocation, and renovation of BHG’s opioid treatment centers. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing organization providing a valuable service in a growing industry sector.
Company:
Behavioral Health Group (www.bhgrecovery.com) is a leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services. Their treatment centers provide medication-assisted treatment in an outpatient setting. Corporately based in Dallas, TX. They currently have 54 locations in 13 states and are continuing to grow.
BHG was just purchased this past year by Vistria (www.vistria.com), a well-respected private investment firm. This was very positive and has provided growth capital to continue proactive development of the company. That development will be a combination of acquisitions as well as de novo (new site) development.
BHG has had quality, stable leadership that has been very successful in the growth and development of the company.
Role:
Based on BHG’s growth plans, the Director of Project management is a newly created position. Previously
this is a function they have outsourced. The Director of Project Management will be responsible for
overseeing and leading all construction, renovation, and relocation of BHG treatment centers; the whole
project life cycle.
This person will report to Dwight Mussleman, Chief Development Officer. Dwight has been with BHG in
this role for almost 7 years now and is responsible for acquisitions, de novo development, and real estate.
He has been very successful in the healthcare services/provider sector in different roles and organizations.
I have personally known Dwight for over 25 years. He is very highly regarded with great integrity, very fair,
supportive, and easy to work with. Dwight is not a micro-manager. He wants and expects someone in this
role that can run with it needing minimal supervision. He is there to be very supportive and help this
person get whatever resources necessary to be successful.
The average de novo facility is approximately a $500K project. Each treatment center is approximately 3,500-4,000 sq.ft. with standardized fit-and-finish. Over the next four years they are planning on adding 14 de novo sites (2 of which are currently in process). There will also be renovation of acquisitions.
Ideal person:
The ideal person for this role will be someone who:
-
Is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-
Is an excellent communicator
-
Able to work with all types of people effectively
-
Is well organized
-
Any real estate experience would be a plus
Though the initial role of this person is somewhat defined, ideally this would be someone with both the desire and capacity to continue to grow within the organization.
The company is corporately based in Dallas. This would be the ideal place for someone to be located, but is not absolutely necessary. This person will travel as needed, but should be able to accomplish much of the role remotely.
Healthcare specific construction experience is not a necessity.
Compensation:
There will be a competitive base salary, bonus plan, and full set of benefits.
