Overview:
The Rottman Group has been retained to find a Practice
Administrator for a multi-site medical oncology group, Arkansas Oncology
Associates, in
Organizations:
Arkansas Oncology Associates, based in
There is positive physician leadership, a positive practice
culture, and a positive clinical reputation for the group to build on as a
foundation.
This group generates approximately $90M+ in gross charges per
year. While there is always
opportunities to improve, their internal operations are running fairly well,
with days in A/R in the mid 40’s.
The previous administrator had been with the practice for
some period of time, had worked with the older physicians for quite awhile, and
reflected, to some degree, their desire to maintain the status quo.
There is a different dynamic now within the practice and a group of good
managers and employees that need and desire leadership.
There is the opportunity to develop this practice with
additional service offerings as well as geographic development.

Culturally,
US Oncology is a great organization, one that has a very strong integrity base
as a foundation along with a value-people oriented culture and experience.
Building
upon their network of more than 460 sites of services, including 85 cancer
centers, in 32 states, they ensure the latest technology and treatment advances
at the local level through three core services:
Working
in partnership with leading oncologists, U.S. Oncology’s goal is to provide
physicians and their patients access to a full range of capabilities - including
diagnostic imaging, radiation, chemotherapy, pharmaceuticals, clinical trials
and more - in local community-based outpatient settings. As a result, physicians
have access to the resources they need to ensure that their patients receive the
care they need, without leaving the people they care about.
Through
US Oncology's core services - plus their unparalleled national scale - they are
advancing the delivery of high-quality oncology care in many ways.
They
are accelerating the pace of cancer research by accruing patients to clinical
trials, allowing more patients to have access to new molecules and therapies.
They are bringing state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies to
local towns and cities. They are leveraging economies-of-scale to reduce
health-care costs. And they are working with patient advocacy groups to drive
public-policy efforts.
Putting
it simply, U.S. Oncology is a strong force in the war on cancer, employing
their nationwide resources to fight cancer in every way possible. In doing so,
they are driving an innovative new services model and helping oncologists
deliver the best possible care.
